Reduce Wasted Food – Tip Sheet for Residents

A resource to help residents understand some simple steps they can take to reduce their food waste.  The tip sheet was originally created for Vermont communities, but can be quickly edited and used by any community.  It includes: everyday tips for storing and using foods before they go bad;  weekly tips for checking the fridge, making menus, and food shopping; tips on how to use your fridge to store foods, including a description of crisper settings; links to food apps; links to contacts for organics collections,  and wasted food facts.

If a community is interested in using the tip sheet, they can contact me for a Word version, so they can make appropriate edits for their geographic area.
