“Building Blocks for Healthy Kids” is a nutrition education curriculum for elementary school-aged children that can be easily adapted for a variety of ages and locations. The cohesive six-lesson curriculum is designed to empower children to make healthier food choices and teach them how to prepare nutritious meals and snacks at home through hands-on activities, educational takeaways, recipes and more. Four lessons cover MyPlate and the components of a healthy diet, one lesson addresses where our food comes from, and another lesson is on physical activity. Each lesson includes a pre- and post-test, background information, activity plan, and recipe.
