The LA Food Policy Council and members of the Food Waste Rescue and Prevention Working Group produced a guide of local food recovery efforts called “Reducing Food Waste: Recovering untapped resources in our food system.” The guide aims to equip stakeholders in the public, private and non-profit sectors with resources to increase food recovery, divert food from landfills and better coordinate efforts. Highlighting organizations and practices happening in communities across Los Angeles County, the new guide aims to inspired new partnerships, demystify misconceptions related to the donation of food and inform policy efforts.
