Boston Area Gleaners

WHAT WE DO

Up to 20% of the food grown on farms is never harvested. At the same time, nearly 1 in 10 Massachusetts residents struggles to access nutritious food. Boston Area Gleaners strives to reduce both of these problems by mobilizing volunteers to glean, or harvest surplus fruits and vegetables from local farms. We then distribute the fresh, high-quality food to agencies that serve people in need.

OUR PARTNERS

Volunteers of all ages and abilities glean crops from over 70 fruit and vegetable farms in eastern Massachusetts. We donate the gleaned produce to local hunger relief organizations, such as food banks, pantries, meal programs, and kitchens. The financial support of donors and funders makes what we do possible.
