The Business Case for Reducing Food Loss and Waste

1

This publication on behalf of Champions 12.3 is a first-of-its-kind analysis, finding that there is a robust business case for companies, countries, and cities to reduce food loss and waste.

Examining data from 1,200 business sites across 700 companies in 17 countries — as well as country- and city-level data from the United Kingdom and London — the findings reflect real-world financial costs and benefits, including who pays and who benefits. This focus is one that speaks to hard-nosed business CFOs and government budget directors, including those who may be unsure or unaware of the kind of impact they can have from reducing food loss and waste.
